Trish to be honored as a "Community Hero"

The Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association will honor Trish this month as a “Community Hero” – an award given for volunteerism. Trish’s endeavors over the past 30 years include volunteer service and support to more than three dozen charitable organizations, including AYSO soccer, Make a Difference Day, SCV Pride Week, Peachland School PTA, The SCV Chamber of Commerce, Prayer Angels for the Military, SCV Tea Party, Santa Clarita, Songwriters Circle, William S. Hart High School Choir Boosters, the SCV Emergency Winter Shelter, KIVA.org, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Santa Clarita Valley, and the International Association of Business Communicators. Some of Trish’s notable achievements include establishing a rape crisis hotline in Long Beach; the creation of “Net:Work,” a job-finding system for professional communicators in the Los Angeles area; and the co-creation of the Santa Clarita River Rally environmental event. This month alone she is working on the Santa Clarita Valley Alternative Gift Fair and organizing a GoGirls MusicFest concert to raise awareness and funds for two maternity homes. Trish often donates her time and talent as a performing songwriter. On October 4, she’ll be singing at a Military Family Appreciation event hosted by California Assemblywoman Audra Strickland, and on October 21 at a College of the Canyons Domestic Violence Awareness event in Valencia.
