College of the Canyons, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA
Special performance by “Women on the Move” (Trish Lester, Joan Enguita and Linda Geleris) in commemoration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Event takes place in the "Honor Grove," in the middle of campus behind Administration Building A. Musical performances will be interspersed with speakers and other presentations. Event also features an "Every BODY is Beautiful" fashion show + The Clothesline Project (www.clotheslineproject.org). Bring a t-shirt decorated in honor of a victim/survivor of domestic violence or decorate a shirt on-site and hang it on the clothesline. Bring coins or bills for $2 campus parking fee.
Young women, ages 18 to 24, are statistically the most likely to be victims of domestic violence, so this presentation on a college campus is important.
